Local 710 Members Negotiate Pay Increases, Quality of Life Improvements

Approximately 180 members of Teamsters Local 710 ratified a new three-year contract with Translogix by a two-to-one margin on June 10.

Teamsters who work out of two Chicago facilities will receive either a pay raise or yearly bonus — respective to their location — as part of the new contract. In addition, language regarding pushback scheduling has been improved. In the event an employee is notified that his or her start time is being changed to a later time, the employee will have the option to accept the pushback or maintain the original schedule to perform other duties.

“Local 710 is incredibly proud of our hardworking members at Translogix,” said John T. Coli, Trustee of Local 710. “The new contract provides pay increases that are well deserved. The improvements to quality of life issues also help keep jobs duties fair, an important element to any Teamster contract.”

The new contract includes a modified seniority list for supplemental employees and a yearly increase to members’ pension plans.

The Local 710 shuttle drivers and rail loaders move vehicles between a vehicle manufacturing plant at 126th Street and Torrence Avenue and the two nearby Translogix facilities where they are loaded on or off of rails.

Teamsters Local 710 is an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25, America’s premier labor union for Chicago, Illinois and northwest Indiana.
