On August 28, 2018, our fellow Brother, Michael “Mick” Yauger, President of Teamsters Local Union No. 786, received the Infantry St. Maurice Award prior to an Illinois Military Pathways to Career Seminar at the Union League Club in Chicago.
The Infantry St. Maurice Award is bestowed upon those Soldiers and civilians who, like St. Maurice, have served and contributed to the infantry community with distinction and those who possess the exemplary virtues and qualities of integrity, moral character, professional competence and dedication to duty.

“Mick’s heroic journey serving this Country truly personifies great strength and resiliency that have lead him to be named a recipient of the Infantry St. Maurice Award. The Executive Board of Joint Council 25 is extremely proud of our fellow brother’s countless accomplishments,” said Terrence J. Hancock, President of Teamsters Joint Council 25.

The award was presented to Brother Yauger by Mr. Allen J. Lynch, Medal of Honor Recipient and Colonel Sam Whitehurst, Army Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff.

The ceremony may have concluded but Mick will undoubtedly continue his journey… keeping close to heart this worthy distinction.
