On Saturday, January 20, 2018, Teamster Women and Men joined thousands of
participants in the “Women’s March Chicago”. The event sought to bring awareness
to women’s rights by advocating for and promoting the voice of women in our
society.

Teamsters Local Union No. 777, in partnership with the Teamsters Joint Council No.
25 Women’s Committee, graciously provided transportation to and from the event,
along with a pink Teamster hat and refreshments on behalf of all Teamster
participants.

“Last year’s march showed women’s resilience in a very adverse climate,” said
Diahann Goode, President of Teamsters Joint Council No. 25 Women’s Committee.
“Since 2018 is a significant election year, this march was all about continuing that
momentum.”

The inspiring energy of thousands gathering to support women’s rights could be felt
throughout event.

time is now to mobilize and energize our members to change the course of the

The event began with an uplifting rally that motivated the crowd. The subsequent
march commenced at the corner of Columbus Drive and Congress Parkway in
Chicago, Illinois.

The “Women’s March Chicago” was part of a coordinated effort that brought
marches on behalf of women’s rights to cities across the United States and around
the world.

Teamsters Joint Council No. 25 is the premier labor organization providing

Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
