Local 781 Members at Kerry have been subject to mandatory overtime shifts that are taking a toll on their health and well-being. Local 781 Members went on strike on February 28th, and have been picketing outside the Kerry facility near the busy intersection of Manheim Road and North Avenue for the past 10 days, earning support of the thousands of drivers who pass by and support the strike.
“These Teamster Brothers and Sisters are taking action because of the unfair labor practices of this company. They’ve worked tirelessly, through a global pandemic, and now the excessive mandatory overtime shifts are pushing our Members toward burnout. They want better working conditions, and they’re out here using their voice and standing up for that,” said Teamsters Local 781 Vice President Hernan Gomez.
Teamsters Local 781, located in Elmhurst, Illinois and represents 3,600 Members in the Airline, Automotive, and Mechanic trades, as well as general Warehouse and Production workers.
