Richest Contract in Paratransit Location’s History
First Transit DuPage Pace drivers voted to ratify a new contract. The new three-year agreement represents the richest contract ever achieved for the 27 Teamsters Local 727 members at the DuPage facility.
“I’d like to congratulate the Local 727 bargaining committee for its help in securing such a strong contract.” -John Coli Jr.
“I’d like to congratulate the Local 727 bargaining committee for its help in securing such a strong contract,” said Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727 John Coli Jr.
An 18-month extension that Local 727 negotiated prior to this contract proved essential in securing the favorable terms that allowed bargaining to successfully occur. It includes significant wage increases over the life of the contract, enhanced seniority privileges, and improved working conditions, such as:
- All members will receive a minimum $1.65/hour up to a $2.30/hour wage increase immediately that is retroactive to August 1, 2017, based on years of service.
- By the end of the contract, each employee will receive a minimum increase to wages of $3.25/hour or more during the life of the agreement, based on seniority.
- In addition to the wage increases outlined above, the Company will provide each employee with a reasonably warm winter coat and will pay for (or reimburse) each employee for any and all motor vehicle registrations.
