Therapeutic Center Is Vital for Veterans, Local 786 Secretary-Treasurer Says
Hardworking Teamsters across Illinois are encouraged to support military veterans and individuals with special needs during the BraveHearts Bike Run on Sunday, August 30.
The annual bike run generates necessary funding and awareness for the BraveHearts Therapeutic Riding and Educational Center. With locations in Harvard and Poplar Grove, the Illinois-based charity uses horses to aid veterans and other patients with special needs through equine-assisted physical therapy.
Tickets for the bike run and reception are $20, with all proceeds benefitting the largest program in the U.S. serving veterans through equine therapy.
“BraveHearts is an extraordinary program that fights for those who fought for us,” said Eddie Rizzo, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 786, who participates in the bike run each year. “Local 786 is asking Teamster families in Illinois and across the country to consider supporting this vital veterans charity. They have put so many on the road to recovery following life-threatening injuries and trauma.”
The BraveHearts Bike Run begins at 11 a.m., Sunday, August 30, at the Salvation Army, 340 Townline Rd., Mundelein, IL. Following the run, a celebration featuring food, raffles, music and t-shirts will kick off at 1 p.m. at the Bravehearts Educational Center, 7319 Maxon Rd., Harvard, IL.
