An Outpouring of Participants Rally Together in Support of Probation Officers and Youth Counselors in Kane County, Ill.
On Monday, May 14, 2018, President of Teamsters Local 330 Dominic Romanazzi, alongside a number of Teamster Affiliates, Unions, Political Leaders, Community Groups and Members gathered outside of the Sixteenth Judicial Courthouse during a Labor Support Rally on behalf of the bargaining unit members in the employ of the Courthouse.
During the Rally, Unions, Political Leaders and Community Groups advocated on behalf of Kane County Probation Officers and Youth Counselors regarding wage progression issues, and against alleged unfair labor practices committed by their employer that blatantly disregard the imperative and invaluable role that these Members willingly fulfill not only within the walls of the Courthouse but within the entire Kane County community.
“These workers are extremely important and essential employees who oversee thousands of offenders over the course of a year. The extent of their professional obligation to society is immense and therefore, the terms of their contract should be reflective of such duties and responsibilities,” Romanazzi said.
The large number of supporters and participants at the Labor Support Rally echoes the unwavering commitment that the Teamsters have made to protect the common interest and morale of its Members.
As the Strike approaches its 18th day, the picket lines will remain active and supported in solidarity by Teamster Affiliates, other Unions and Members within the community while the decision of the employer to negotiate a fair and respectful contract continues.
