Teamsters Joint Council No. 25 Executive Board Backs Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle

Teamsters Joint Council No. 25 President, Terrence J. Hancock, announced the official endorsement of Toni Preckwinkle in the Chicago Mayoral Run-Off Election.

“Toni has been an advocate for working families throughout her entire career,” said Hancock.

“Not only has Toni been an advocate for working families, but, she has also been an exemplary employer to thousands of Teamsters who work for Cook County,” said Hancock, “she has tirelessly negotiated fair contracts on behalf of our Membership and has assisted the Teamsters in an effort to avert layoffs under extremely difficult circumstances.”

Preckwinkle finished 2nd in the primary to Lori Lightfoot. Both candidates have advanced to the runoff election. Early voting begins March 18, 2019 and will run through April 1, 2019.

“The Joint Council will ensure that the tens of thousands of Teamsters who live and work in Chicago know what an ally Toni has been for the working middle-class,” said Hancock, “our members deserve an advocate on the 5th floor of City Hall and there is no one more qualified than Toni Preckwinkle.”
